  2. I recall that six years ago, we didn't have a real snowfall until around the first of December. That was the year I gave birth to Calamity Jane-- I put her in my baby napsack and walked her brother with special needs (who liked to hide his shoes so he'd not catch the bus) to school. Maybe we had an earlier snow that melted?

    I remember too how I felt that something was missing because it was so dark and nothing would reflect the light and realized how amazing it was that the snow had a purpose besides needing to be shoveled!
